In our story, we introduce the Priory at Melwood. Today, all that remains are ruins on Low Melwood Farm, between Owston Ferry and Epworth in the Isle of Axholme.
This historic site, known as Axholme Priory or the Axholme Charterhouse, is believed to have been built on the site of a 12th-century Premonstratensian chapel.
